Dr. Linda Williams has resigned from the Consultative Forum because she is considering running for the House of Assembly as an independent at-large candidate. “I am thoughtfully and prayerfully considering the notion of vying for a seat under the at-large electoral category in the upcoming elections,” Williams said. “I have not come to a definitive position on this matter. I have not aligned myself with neither of the political parties and I have no intention of doing so.” Williams joins former fellow forum members Sharlene Cartwright-Robinson and Karen Delancy in leaving their posts following the governor’s announcement that no forum or Advisory Council member can serve if they are considering running for elected office. Cartwright-Robinson has said she will seek the nomination to run as an at-large candidate for the Peoples Democratic Movement. Delancy has said she will seek the nomination by the Progressive National Party as a constituent candidate in the Bight on Providenciales. Replacements for the three members are expected to be appointed soon. Click here to read Williams' statement
