One of two men shot May 11 at the Funworld mini golf course by business owner David Been remains hospitalized but is not well enough to be interviewed by police, said acting Police Commissioner Rodney Adams.

Lorrand Prospere, a Haitian national, continues to improve at the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre on Providenciales but has not yet been charged, Adams said. The fp had incorrectly reported that Prospere died from his wounds.

Responding to an alarm at his business early May 11, Been shot Prospere and Stenneth Forbes, a Turks and Caicos Islander, when he found them and a third man at his business.

Forbes was pronounced dead at the scene, and Prospere was taken to the hospital.

The third man, Frantz Fenelus, 28, a Haitian national, has been charged with burglary and malicious injuries to property. He is being held at Her Majesty’s Prison in Grand Turk and is scheduled to be in court again June 18, Adam said.

A number of witnesses have been interviewed, Adams said. A fourth suspect was taken into custody but has been released, he said.

As for Been, “We have been in contact with the (attorney general’s) chambers, and we are still awaiting feedback from them with relation to Mr. Been,” Adams said.
