Crime Corner: Wounded suspect charged in mini-golf burglary PDF Print E-mail

Police have charged a second man in connection with a burglary May 11 of the Miniature Golf Course Bar & Restaurant on Leeward Highway.

Lorand Prospere, a 19-year-old Turks Islander who resides in Five Cays, was charged with burglary, police said. He has been hospitalized with gunshot wounds he suffered during the burglary.

Business owner David Been responded to an alarm at his business early May 11 and shot Prospere and Stenneth Forbes, a Turks and Caicos Islander, when he found them and a third man at his business.

Forbes was pronounced dead at the scene, and Prospere was taken to the hospital.

The third man, Frantz Fenelus, 28, a Haitian national, has been charged with burglary and malicious injuries to property.
Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.

Police charge Providenciales man with carnal knowledge

Police have charged a 26-year-old Turks Islander with unlawful carnal knowledge in connection with a report made to Grand Turk Police Station on June 12.

Shawn Parker of Providenciales was granted bail in the sum of $1,000 with conditions and is schedule to appear in the Grand Turk Magistrate’s Court on Monday, June 28.

Shots fired at money transfer security guards

Police are investigating an incident June 11 in which shots were fired at security guards of a money transfer business on Leeward Highway.

The 911 Emergency & Communications received a report at 6 p.m. of an attempted robbery, police said. Officers responded and were told that three males fired shots at the security officers, damaging their vehicle’s tires.
