A man who robbed a Five Cays business and tried to carjack a person in the parking lot was shot by that person, who was licensed to carry a firearm, police said.

On Aug. 28 the male masked gunman robbed Faltinto’s Store on Five Cays Road on Providenciales of a quantity of cash. He went outside and tried to carjack a vehicle from its owner.

The robber discharged his firearm several times during the incident, but he was shot by a licensed firearm holder who the robber tried to shoot and carjack, police said.

The robber was treated for multiple gunshot wounds.

In a separate unrelated incident, police in Providenciales said they have charged Lorenzo Ceasar, a 25-year-old Turks Islander, for the Aug. 22 robbery of Sea-View Provo Business, located in Rock Plaza on Blue Hills Road in Providenciales.
