The Human Resource Department at Beaches Resorts Villages and Spa is gearing up to host what may be the biggest job fair for the upcoming Turks and Caicos Islands tourism season.

The four-day, Belongers-only job fair is geared towards recruiting enthusiastic locals for several vacant positions throughout the resort, a representative for the resort told the fp.

The recruitment efforts for the largest commercial employer in the country will kick off Wednesday, Oct. 13, at the resort’s Caribbean Village conference room and continue through Thursday, Oct. 14. The resort will also host a second week of recruitment on Wednesday, Oct. 20, and Thursday, Oct. 21.

Lorenzo Seymour, Human Resource Trainee Manager and local talent recruit has been actively promoting local talent at the resort. He also successfully spearheaded the summer recruitment program which saw more than 50 students and new graduates secure summer and permanent positions.

Seymour expressed his excitement for the upcoming job fair, at which he says Turks and Caicos Islanders will be given first preference to any available position at the resort.

“We are in the process of building our staff for the upcoming high season and are looking for local talents to fill several positions,” he said. “We encourage people to send in their resumes along with proper documentation for this job fair. We are really looking to interviewing some of the best talent Turks and Caicos has to offer.”

Applicants are encouraged to send in resumes by fax or e-mail to the Human Resource office to secure an interview time during the job fair. All applicants must have valid identifications, proof of TCI status, a clean police record, and a good command of the English language. In addition, candidates must be able to work nights, public holidays and weekends.

Positions up for grabs are servers, dining room supervisors, bartenders, pool servers, beach servers, bar porters, room attendants, housemen, public area attendants, housekeeping supervisors, grade 1,2,3 cooks, executive sous chefs, assistant pastry chefs, security officers, videographers, shop attendants, gift shop assistant managers, kids Kamp-Camp Sesame and Pirate Island attendants, beach and pool attendants, dive instructors, store room controllers, mini bar stockers, telephone operators, receptionists and stewarding.
