Two suspects in the robbery of Jai’s jewelry store on Grace Bay have denied bail, police said. Wilkie Arthur and Lorenzo Caesar, both charged with the robbery that took place midday July 10, made applications Nov. 24 at the Supreme Court on Grand Turk to be released on bail. Both were denied and were ordered to remain in custody. A Haitian national has been sentenced to 4½ years in prison for a robbery at the Scotiabank ATM on Cherokee Road in November 2009, police said. Supreme Court Justice Richard Williams recommended that Richard Romeus be deported after he serves his sentence. Two Turks and Caicos Islanders are in jail after being charged with having fake firearms, police said. Dominique Swann has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear. Javano Wilson has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear and inflicting bodily injury. Charges against both men stem from an incident alleged to have taken place Nov. 22 on Grand Turk.
