Students on North, South Caicos celebrate PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 21 December 2010 11:23

Students on the islands of South Caicos and North Caicos were treated to a extra special Christmas visit, thanks to the partnership and teams from FirstCaribbean International Bank, Grace Bay Resort and LIME.

The three companies recently joined together in a partnership to provide community support, starting with the adoption of Providenciales’ largest roundabout on Leeward Highway.

This week, employees from all three organizations were on hand to share Christmas joy with the students and teachers from the Iris Stubbs Primary School in South Caicos; and the Hubert James Primary School, Adelaide Oemler Primary School and the school that is run by Gwendolyn Williams on North Caicos.

“This is partnership in action,” said Dr. Carlton Mills of the Grace Bay Resorts Foundation. “The team members from LIME, FirstCaribbean and Grace Bay Club have come to South Caicos and North Caicos to share with them during the holiday season. This demonstrates what can be done when companies work together for the benefit of the community.”

The principals of the schools — Darlene Lightbourne, Linda Walkin and Earleen Elliott — all expressed their gratitude: “We are happy that Grace Bay Club, FirstCaribbean and LIME took the time to come to our schools to visit us. This shows that being corporate citizens is not just something that is said but it is something that we have seen today.”

“The Power of Partnership is what these events were about,” said Drexwell Seymour, general manager of LIME TCI.

“LIME Turks and Caicos is cognizant that we must make full use of the opportunities that exist to ensure that we reach out into the communities where we live and touch lives. That is what the season is all about.”
