![]() It is not often that the 27 students and eight staff members of the Doris Robinson Primary School on Middle Caicos receive such a special visit. On Thursday, Dec. 9, Digicel brought smiles to the faces of the students when staff members arrived with presents and goodies just in time for the school’s annual Christmas concert. “Christmas is a special time of the year,” said Ava-Dayne Kerr, Digicel’s head of marketing. “Our children especially look forward to Christmas and the joy it brings in the form of gift giving and other festivities. As we reflect on the year and the season, Digicel wants to ensure that Christmas is always bright for the students of our adopted school, Doris Robinson Primary.” Principal Keisha Mills expressed her appreciation to Digicel, noting the telecommunication company’s continued involvement in the development of the school and its educational programme. “Digicel has always been there for Doris Robinson, and this year we want to let them know that we really appreciate their efforts and the Christmas cheer they have brought to our children,” Mills said. Digicel adopted the only primary school on the island of Middle Caicos in 2007. They last visited the school in September to celebrate the new school year, providing each student with necessary supplies such as book bags, pencils and lunch bags. Middle Caicos is also apart of Digicel’s Community Christmas campaign, where your text could win $30,000 for the Doris Robinson Community Park. Digicel has selected 12 community projects that span all the major islands in the Turks and Caicos Islands, and one will receive the prize of $30,000. Customers are encouraged to log on to the Digicel TCI Facebook page at www.facebook.com/digiceltci to learn more about the projects that are eligible for votes. The project which receives the most votes will walk away with the $30,000. Votes should be sent to short code 5050. Each vote costs 50 cents.
