![]() To cap the end of a successful year, telecom giant Digicel reopened its flagship store with a top-to-bottom revamp, sporting some of the most high-tech features of any store around. Just in time for Christmas, Digicel reopened the store Dec. 23 in the Graceway IGA Plaza to an anxious crowd waiting outside. Putting information at its customers’ fingertips, the new flagship store boasts fully interactive touch screen portals where customers can learn more about Digicel’s products and services. In addition, customers can also try out the products first-hand with a live BlackBerry handset display where real calls can be made. The store revamp was a project close to his high-tech heart. Aside from his degree in Computer Sciences, Saunders has a keen interest in technology and bringing it to the TCI whenever and wherever possible. Other high-tech upgrades include the ability to do live training sessions for customers or groups in the store. “We wanted to enhance the customer experience, and so we built a store that is on par with the best technology stores anywhere in the world,” Saunders said. Building on its partnership with Cisco, the new store is outfitted with a high-end Cisco Business Solutions video surveillance system, which allows the store to be monitored by multiple parties, from anywhere in the world, at any time of day, via a PC or a mobile phone. The revamp of the store was important to the company that constantly strives to keep things new and fresh, “Especially in these tough economic times, we want people to come into our store and feel a positive vibe,” Saunders said. Digicel marked a major milestone in May, when the less than four-year-old company celebrated becoming the largest mobile company in the Turks and Caicos Islands. Saunders told the media that not only is Digicel now the number one mobile carrier, but that it is now on their way to becoming the largest telecommunications company in the TCI. “Our portfolio of business products and services include both fixed voice and fax solutions, and we are happy that businesses are finding out that we offer the best products for the best value in this space,” Saunders explained. Digicel is also about to wrap up its Community Christmas Campaign, where it will soon give $30,000 to a local charity. Time is running out to text in and support your favorite charity. Customers are encouraged to log on to the Digicel TCI Facebook page at www.facebook.com/digiceltci to learn more about the 12 projects that are eligible for votes. The project which receives the most votes will walk away with $30,000. Votes should be sent to short code 5050. Each vote costs 50 cents.
