Crime Corner: Robbery suspect free on bail arrested for more charges PDF Print E-mail

Police have arrested multiple robbery suspect Jo’Ram Rigby on new charges involving a firearm, police said Jan. 29.

Rigby, 27, was wanted in connection with a report of possession of a firearm and vehicle interference that occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 26.

After a Crime Stoppers most wanted poster was widely circulated last week saying he was armed and dangerous, Rigby was picked up without incident, police said.

Rigby was free on bail on charges in two separate incidents.

He was one of four charged in the Feb. 9 robbery of the Petro Plus service station on Millennium Highway.

Rigby also is facing charges for the July 10 robbery of the Jai’s jewelry store in Grace Bay.

Man at airport stopped with $29,000 undeclared cash

Customs officers arrested a Bahamian/Turks Islander on Jan. 30 when he arrived at the Providenciales International Airport with $29,000 in U.S. cash.

The 44-year-old man did not declare that he was bringing the large amount of cash into the country on an international flight.

The man was taken into custody, and customs officials said he was expected to be charged soon.

Quick action nets suspect in Turtle Cove car robberies

The 911 Communication Centre, the public and police worked together to catch one suspect and recover goods stolen from two cars in Turtle Cove, police said.

On Jan. 26 at about 10:55 a.m., two vehicles were broken into in Turtle Cove, and a number of items were stolen from both vehicles.

One male Turks and Caicos Islander was arrested within an hour and all stolen goods were recovered.

Police are looking for a male Turks and Caicos Islander who is a person of interest in the incident.
