| TCI won’t be host of CARIFTA games |

Turks and Caicos Islands Commonwealth Games Association President Rita Gardiner officially told organizers for the 2011 Caribbean Free Trade Association games on Tuesday (Feb. 1) that the country would not be able to host the 2011 CARIFTA Games. This year would mark the 40th anniversary of the games, which are expected to be held in April. The TCI National Stadium hosted the 36th CARIFTA Games on April 7-9, 2007. The games featured over 500 athletes from 26 countries.
