| TCI Golf team to tee off at Championship in Trinidad and Tabago |

Eleven talented golfers from the Turks and Caicos Islands will be jetting off to Trinidad and Tobago to compete in the RBC Royal Bank sponsored 55th Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships. Skilled golfer, Rodney Lavard, will lead the team of hopeful golfers at this premier golf event. Lavard is a veteran in the Caribbean Championships, having represented his national team in all but two championships since his debut in 1996 golfers. The Turks and Caicos team includes Mike Adamo, John Donatien, Fraser Dods, Terry Erskine, Will Shoreman, Chris Bruno, Bill Confer, Jumphol (JP) Srinark, Graham Malyan, Richard Sanmiya and Rodney Lavard, all selected based on previous performance. The tournament will be hosted by the Millennium Lakes Golf Club, with its par 71 Championship layout from August 1 – 6 and the TCI team will battle for the regional title against golfers from Dominican Republic, U.S. Virgin Islands, The Bahamas, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States, Jamaica, Barbados and Cayman Islands. The event is officially sponsored by RBC Royal Bank. “We are quite pleased that RBC Royal Bank, one of the largest financial institutions in the region, has agreed to assume the role of Title Sponsor for the CAGC 2011; they, have brought significant resources to the successful management and hosting of the event,” said President of the Trinidad and Tobago Golf Association, Robert Costelloe, of the main sponsor. The RBC Royal Bank 55th CAGC 2011 will showcase the individual skills of the players in the national teams, as they strive to cop trophies in six categories: Men’s Open Competition - Hoerman Cup |
