The Rotary Club of Providenciales held its 2nd annual golf tournament Dec. 4 at the Provo Golf Club on Dec. 4 that drew 84 entries and raised more than $4,000 for Rotary service projects.

Among the possible prizes were a whopping $50,000 hole in one cash prize that went unclaimed, but various gift vouchers, champagne and a variety of gift baskets were awarded.

The event’s overall winners were Peter Pryzgoda, Dorothy Trocha, Donna Gatti and Colin Watson, who all walked away with a bevy of prizes.

The money raised at this year’s event will be used for various Rotary Club 2011-12 service projects. Some of the group’s past projects include providing free dictionaries to all third grade students in the TCI, free eyeglasses testing and glasses for local primary students, one year of schooling for a child in the Andes, five goats for needy families in Haiti, maintenance of the Rotary public park in Grace Bay located between the Somerset and Bay Bistro, maintenance of the roundabout at the Leeward Highway and Blue Hills Road, a Christmas food drive for local senior citizens and two centrifuges for the local blood bank.

Sponsors of the event included Acre Delivery, AirCool, Exhale Spa @ Gansevoort, Fairways Bar & Grill, H.G. O’Neill & Co., Island Painting Company, John Redmond Associates, Karam & Missick, Meridian Financial Group, National Colony Realty, Ocean Club Resorts, Provo Golf Club, Provo Steel, Stelle @ Gansevoort, Sterling Property Consultants, The Wine Cellar, Turks and Caicos Reservations, Turks and Caicos Sotheby’s Realty and Villa Renaissance.
