Model sailboat success PDF Print E-mail

Shifty, sporadic breezes on Bambarra beach made this year’s model sailboat race quite a challenge but did nothing to spoil the fun of the annual Valentine’s Day Cup event on Middle Caicos.

Spectators enjoyed the races, food and fun on the beach while music played flowed throughout the day Feb. 11 at the ever growing not-for-profit event.

The Middle Caicos Sailing Association (MCSA) said the Church of God of Prophecy food sales raised more than a thousand dollars for its roof fund. The MCSA cleared more than $600 from the bar and T-shirt and cap sales to help pay for new boats.

In addition to main sponsor, Islandcom, others supporting the event were TCI Tourist Board, Forbes, Forbes & Forbes Ltd., Big Blue, 92.5/Kenny, Daniels Café, Middle Caicos Co-op, Caribbean Cruisin, Liquors Plus, Quality Supermarket, Daniel Forbes, Brodie Forbes, John Lawson, Mark Parrish, David Bowen, Bobby Ball, Devon Forbes, Ricky James, Akila Forbes, Jody Rathgreb, Tom Higgins, Liz Baldwin, Sara Kaufman, Dave & Patricia Baldwin, Herbert Forbes, Dwight Hall, Randy Hall and Berma Bellarosa.
