More than 100 teachers from Enid Capron Primary and Clement Howell High schools were celebrated at Beaches Resort Villages and Spa last week to commemorate Teacher’s Appreciation Day in style during 2012 Education Week. The appreciation luncheon was hosted by the resort’s philanthropic arm, the Sandals Foundation, which treated an excited group of teachers from two of its sponsored schools — 32 teachers from Enid Capron and 52 teachers from Clement Howell — plus three Parent Teacher Association executives. “Teachers are the ones who provide education for pupils and in turn shape the future of the Turks and Caicos Islands, and that position deserves to be recognized and most of all celebrated,” said Elanor Finfin Krzanowski, the luncheon’s organizer and Beaches Public Relations manager. “I am so happy the Sandals Foundation was able to host the first of many Teacher’s Appreciation celebrations for the wonderful men and women who go above and beyond the call of duty at all of our sponsored schools.” Along with a deliciously catered lunch, teachers also received several gifts donated by the Sandals Foundation, The RedLane Spa at Beaches, the Parents and Teachers Association, Digicel, LIME and gas vouchers courtesy of R&J Tire shop. “It is nice to be appreciated for the all the work that we do here at Enid Capron, this luncheon was the highlight of our Education Week activities, my teachers were ecstatic!” said Rachel Taylor, principal Enid Capron. “Teachers are not the highest paid professionals, but their job is one of the most important jobs in the Turks & Caicos,” said PTA President for Clement Howell High School, Joan Harry. “Teachers go out of their way to help motivate and inspire our kids, I am glad the PTA was able to collaborate with Beaches and the Sandals Foundation to celebrate their amazing contribution to our children.” Sandals and Beaches Resorts has adopted a total of 27 schools across the Caribbean and has supported thousands of teachers that are responsible for the future leaders of the Caribbean.
