FlightSupport Ltd. staff at Providenciales International Airport have something new to crow about.

They have recently learned that they won the coveted Silver Longhaul Award from British Airways for Station Best Performance in the fourth quarter of 2011. This is the second time that the station has won the award.

British Airways Airport Manager Nathaniel Rappel accepted the award on behalf of the Provo team at an awards ceremony recently in London.

“The team dedication, perseverance and hard work is a great asset to the servicing of our customers in sometimes challenging circumstances,” Rappel said.

“It is always a pleasure to have such commitment to service excellence being acknowledged and rewarded.”

The FlightSupport team leaders include Ives Dorvil, ramp duty manager; Jameika Stubbs, customer service duty manager; Stacey An Parchment, customer service supervisor; and Peter Ferreira, operations supervisor.

The award is based on monthly and quarterly performance statistics gathered from onboard surveys analyzing customer satisfaction on service and punctuality.

British Airways is not the only airline showing its appreciation to the FlightSupport staff. The team was also presented with a plaque from Canadian carrier WestJet for winning its Caribbean Performance Award 2011-12 and most recently received accolades from Delta Airlines’ country manager who commended the staff for its outstanding service.

FlightSupport Ltd. is a part of local businessman Lyndon Gardiner’s InterIsland Aviation Services Group that provides ground support for most major airlines in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
