His Excellency the Gov. Ric Todd and Commissioner of Police Colin Farquhar presented members of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force with their Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medals and Long Service Medals at a Commissioner’s Parade on Providenciales last week. Although this was a Commissioner’s Parade, the governor was invited to personally present each qualifying member with his or her medal. There were 119 police officers and 10 recently retired police officers who qualified; however, only 92 police officers were available for various reasons. A Grand Turk Commissioner’s Parade was also held earlier in the week when medals were awarded to members of the Grand Turk police force.
